James Monroe’s Highland seeks candidates for a part-time Events Office Coordinator, whose primary responsibilities will be supporting the private events side of our operations. The role includes responding to inquiries, showing the property to prospective clients, negotiating terms, and recording details of event bookings. The employee is also responsible for support and public outreach for other events and programs.

Required qualifications include: High School diploma or equivalent. Strong working knowledge of general office procedures and processes. Demonstrated skills in MS Office Suite, with strong proficiency in MS Word and Excel. Excellent interpersonal skills with the proven ability to work effectively with all levels of management, as well as internal and external customers. Strong communication skills, with superior written and verbal abilities. A strong customer service-orientation is a must, with a preference for individuals interested in the wedding business. Strong organization skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy in daily work. Familiarity with organizing and scheduling of events. Previous experience working in an administrative role within a customer service setting. Prior experience managing Excel spreadsheets.
