The Fitness and Aquatics Coordinator is responsible for the planning, programming, budgeting, and overall administration of the Fitness/Aquatics Center while maintaining a safe environment. The Aquatics Coordinator is also accountable for the management, supervision and evaluation of affiliated staff members which include the assistants. They lead fun and energetic group classes to include Cardio Drumming, Tabata, Square Dancing and PWR Circuits to name a few. Our facility features two indoor saline pools, a spa, an enclosed walking track that overlooks the pools and two studios to lead classes in. The exercise room includes three treadmills, two Ellipticals, five NuSteps, one recumbent bicycle, one recumbent elliptical, one seated total trainer, a free-weight station with medicine balls, dumbbells and ankle weights, and a seven-machine resistance training circuit with HUR air resistance.

Responsibilities

Guide a team of fitness instructors and trainers.

Provide a safe environment for residents and instruct them on the proper and safe use of fitness equipment.

Counsel and assist residents with individual, customized exercise programs based on physical assessments.

Instruct land and water-based strength training and aerobics classes, balance classes, and other specialty group exercise classes for groups of residents and associates.

Provide basic upkeep and maintenance of fitness facility and equipment.

Design and implement special fitness and wellness programming.

Qualifications

Experience in a fitness facility, leading group exercise classes and/or personal training.

Excellent communications skills.

Strong ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of residents and associates.

Available to work evenings and weekends as required.

Requirements

Certification in personal training and/or group exercise.

CPR and First aid certification.

Bachelors degree in Exercise Science or related field or equivalent years of experience.
