We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with significant experience and sound judgment interested in leading conceptual and general estimating efforts to produce accurate budgets and estimates to realize our strategic goals and our mission to support our clients vision by constructing buildings that enhance our community. As an estimator, responsibilities include preparing costs for early design concepts based on analysis of historical cost data, relevant benchmarked projects, assumptions, and project specific factors. Sound judgment regarding market conditions, trade contractor capabilities, and risk management measures will be required. We are looking for a proactive approach to leadership in preconstruction efforts for Design Build projects and for business development efforts including project selection and proposal responses. This position will provide a great opportunity for a long-term thinker to exercise leadership, mentor others, participate in a broad range of project planning services, and grow with the company. Additionally, this position requires a high degree of collaboration with internal and external project teams to build productive and enduring relationships.

As a pioneering building professional, you will have opportunities to contribute to the continued improvement of technology systems which provide a unique client experience, including Procore and On Center estimating software, 3D cameras, the use of virtual design, and construction (BIM) in planning activities. Aptitude for learning, using, teaching technology applications, and wholehearted commitment to leveraging technology to increase efficiency and effectiveness will be critical for success. You will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering multiple projects, developing innovative ways of applying preconstruction specialty services to address client needs, and proposing and implementing ideas for continuous improvement of project planning services.

Technology Skills: Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office (Excel, Project, Word, Outlook). Ability to achieve expert proficiency with Procore and On Center Software for managing estimate information.

Job Requirements:

Bachelors degree in Engineering or Construction Management.

8 - 10+ years of conceptual and general estimating, cost engineering and modeling experience.

At least 4 years of recent conceptual estimating experience of projects $2.0 million and larger, with a specific example or project description required. Ability to conceptualize and produce preliminary budgets from a narrative, without design documents.

Solid technical knowledge of building construction means, methods and systems including the complete understanding of all trades and work disciplines; familiarity with resources for maintaining current knowledge.

Ability to read, understand and interpret building plans, construction contracts and project specifications.

Field experience in addition to the conceptual estimating experience.

Experience leading estimating teams at various stages of design.

Successful completion of classes or other training or experience in cost estimating, cost modeling, cost engineering, and constructability, and ability to demonstrate knowledge and understanding.

Advanced degree in construction or management, and professional registration desired.

Demonstrated success in positions (estimating or other experiences) requiring professionalism, integrity, and accuracy.
