Lead Electrician and Beginner/Helper Electrician (Residential) (Charlottesville, Albemarle County and Surrounding Area)

Vacancy expired!

Ripley Electric is a new venture of Charlottesville-based homebuilder Ripley Beckman in association with Cole and Co. Electrical. A primary intention Ripley Electric and Ripley Beckman is to provide freedom and independence for our employees. Our employees, in turn, create mutually beneficial relationships among the whole team (contractors, clients, and designers).

Ripley Electric will specialize in remodel and addition electrical. We will also do new construction and service work. We will limit our scope to one and two family dwelling electrical.

One thing you should know from the start is that we believe in teaching and learning. Passing on good values and skills to less experienced members of our team is a core value and a non-negotiable. Teaching and learning is how we hone our own understanding of what good values and skills are. Teaching and learning continuously reaffirms that each of us is a high integrity individual, and that we are choosing to come together to work as a team.

We are hiring for two positions:

Lead Electrician, leading to a position as Future Project Manager or Future Independent Electrical Contractor

Have you been an electrician of some variety all your life and followed that interest, and can you lead a team? We are looking for an experienced Lead Electrician with a strong sense of honor and integrity, who is interested in eventually becoming a Project Manager and/or an Independent Electrical Contractor with your own company. As a lead electrician, you will be assisted at all levels by Doug Zink, Chris Sigrist and the back office. Longtime electrical contractor Cole Sandridge is our guru on call.

Beginner/Helper, leading to a position as Future Electrician

If you like wires, electricity and sawdust and want to learn how to re-wire a house, this position might be for you. As a residential electrician, a big part of the role is taking apart other people's work to figure out what they did and how you can change it. It takes a lot of imagination to do this. We'll help you learn to take on this challenge, while building your leadership skills.

Please send Doug Zink a resume and/or an email outlining your background and experience to jobs@ripleyelectric.com or call Doug at 434-242-2805.
