AceInfo is currently seeking a Network Engineer II to support ongoing requirements of the United States Coast Guard Operations Systems Center (USCG OSC) Core Technology Services II Contract in Chesapeake, VA.

This position will report directly to the ISD SEC BPS (Network as a Service (NaaS) Project Manager. The Network Engineer will be responsible for DOD network implementation and daily maintenance as their primary task.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Act as a first-responder, interacting directly with users and system administrators to document and address service requests and trouble reports.
  • Diagnose and resolve common connectivity and network service issues.
  • Install, configure, and manage network equipment (firewalls, routers, switches, Load Balancers, etc.).
  • DHCP system administration (assignment and coordination of network addresses).
  • DNS system administration (assignment and coordination of registered hostnames).
  • Implement Firewall Policies, Juniper, Fortigate.
  • McAfee WEb Gateway configuation and management.
RequirementsA prospective candidate for this position will have

5-15 years of experience in technical Information technology engineering and architecture functions with a focus in network infrastructure, firewall maintenance, and security policies. Familiar in the design, planning and building of data centers. Provides internal status reports, enforces quality control of project deliverables, and contributes to developing efficient processes and procedures for continuing improvement of the certification and accreditation process.

The candidate should be detail oriented with focuses towards technical knowledge, good writing skills, and excellent customer relationship management skills. Along with team members, he or she will be responsible for supporting the planning, developing, finalizing, and reviewing of key deliverables in each stage of the certification and accreditation process. A familiarity with standards and requirements outlined by Department of Defense (DOD) Security Technical implementation Guidelines (STIG), NIST, FISMA, and others as required is also a plus.

The Firewall/Network Engineer will be actively engaged in working with business systems to implement firewall rules and manage request priorities. The engineer will participate in development of system lifecycle reports. Provide ongoing support of gap analysis of current policies, practices, and procedures as they relate to established guidelines outlined by DOD STIG, DHS security Certification and Accreditation, and FISMA requirements, etc.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
  • Security + required (can be obtained while awaiting background investigation)
  • Associate's degree in Computer Science, IT Engineering or related degree program; or current IT certification with sufficient technical experience to substitute for the formal education requirement.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Use of standard office applications Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project, Outlook.
  • Familiar with LAN/WAN infrastructure design and implementation on Juniper OR Cisco (LAN) product line, networks, and network security
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, and effective in interfacing with internal and external customers fostering collaboration and establishing strong partnerships and relationships
  • Familiar with data center design, planning and consolidation of global sites a plus
  • Good understanding of infrastructure technology such as server, storage, network and inter-relationship with data center architecture designs and services
  • Excellent technical writing skills in the English language, excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, set priorities, and give attention to detail and quality, flexible, strong organizational and time management skills, ability to multi-task, ability to work individually and with a team, positive attitude, self-motivated, reliable, trustworthy, focus interpersonal skills, diplomacy, and ability to handle stress in professional manner.

DESIRED SKILLS:
  • Knowledge of the Department of Homeland Security enterprise architecture including security policies, procedures, and guidance. Experience with NIST certification and accreditation processes.
  • Fortigate Firewall implementation and maintenance in a DOD environment
  • F5 LTM/GTM/ASM implementation and maintenance in a DOD environment
  • Familiarity with DOD STIG requirements
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP, IT security architecture and design (firewalls, intrusion detection systems, virtual private networking, and virus protection technologies behavioral based a plus).
  • Knowledge of LAN/WAN design and general internetworking technologies. Hands-on experience required.
  • Knowledge of various operating systems and hardware.
  • Basic programming and database training.
  • The following certifications desired: CCNA, F5-CA, F5-CTS

Additional Requirement:
U.S. Citizenship is required for the position. Applicants must successfully complete the security application process with the intent of gaining a government granted security clearance

AND receive a minimum Interim clearance, prior to starting.
