The Groundskeeper performs a variety of semi-skilled work in the maintenance of properties' grounds and outside areas and performs related duties as assigned.
Duties and responsibilities
Landscaping
Tractor Work (Clearing/clean brush, Mowing, Moving Mulch, Assisting with delivery of large items,
Hay Pick-up, stacking and organizing
Basic Care of Equipment (check and changing oil, air, fuel and hydraulic filters and fluids)
Maintaining a clean work environment
Mowing, weed eating, blowing- porches, docks, decks, aisles, hedge trimming, new planting and grounds development.
Spraying Selective and Non-Selective herbicides and aquatic algaecide
Chains saw work
Cleaning equipment
Cleaning North and South Barn (tool, equipment and working areas)
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED
One (1) year groundskeeping experience, or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
A valid driver's license is required.
Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge of grounds maintenance (e.g., applying sprays, planting, pruning, trimming, transplanting, etc.).
Skill in operating and maintaining various types of grounds maintenance equipment (e.g., power mower, garden tractor, chain saw, sod cutter, rotary tiller, snow thrower).
Ability to demonstrate physical dexterity and lift 100 pounds.
Skill in use of hand and power tools.
Ability to read (e.g., work orders, product labels), write (e.g., repair orders), and accurately follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to apply safety practices.
