Knowesis is seeking a Tableau Practice Lead to join the Business Intelligence division. The ideal candidate will have a strong relevant background, preferably working with Tableau, strong front-end focus, Data visualization experience, and extremely passionate about further developing your career in this field. This role will suit a Data Visualization Developer with strong front-end focused skills, exceptional communication & interpersonal skills, and someone keen to focus their role within Data visualization specifically.

Working with Tableau primarily, but with other exposure to other applications (PowerBI, Qlik, MicroStrategy, Cognos), you will be the subject matter expert in this area, the go-to person, and you will train people across the business, seeking to establish the best practices and standard components. You will drive the internal standards for visual design and business intelligence team across multiple government clients.

The successful candidate is passionate about good data visualization and design techniques and loves sharing their knowledge. They will have complete ownership when it comes to their community engagement online, attending/hosting events & driving growth.

Duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Developing dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Tableau.
  • Create visualizations for the data extracted with the help of Tableau.
  • Identify patterns and meaningful insights from data through qualitative and quantitative analysis, including but not limited to predictive modeling and data mining.
  • Developing reference documents or reports for the finalized project.
  • Proficient in advanced machine learning algorithms to solve regression, multi-classification, and clustering problems.
  • Ability working with both structured and unstructured data employing unsupervised learning models including isolation forest, k-means clustering, anomaly detection, and principal component analysis.
  • Able to perform statistical modeling with multiple regression techniques, variable selection methods, time series analyses, and neural networks in Python, R, and/or SAS.
  • Utilize Python or R in data analytics to collect, understand, transform, cleanse, store, and share data in a privacy-preserving way.
  • Able to Implement machine learning algorithms with multidimensional data for classification and clustering problems and graphical networks.
  • Collaborate with functional areas to develop and maintain performance metrics, measurements, methods, and targets.
  • Evaluate operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Provide program manager and client with analysis to inform of enterprise resource allocation decisions and assess institutional risk.
  • Support both routine and special projects by communicating with multiple teams to ensure clear and understood requirements from both a functional and technical perspective.
  • Contributes to program and task-related reports, briefings, justification, and requests.

Experience Required
  • 3 year(s): Experience in developing specific reports, database objects, ETL scripts, and other analytical tools and supporting the migration of data
  • Experience with performance tuning in Tableau Server
  • SQL Query Development and TSQL.
  • Knowledge of data design and modeling.
  • Demonstrative understanding of good visual design principles.
  • Ability to perform training, mentorship, and stewardship.
  • Tableau Certification(s) (Desktop/Server) and Tableau Public portfolio.
  • Tableau Desktop.
  • 3 year(s): Strong SQL experience working with platforms including SQL Server, Oracle 10g/11g, DB2, Teradata, PostgreSQL, Netezza or Hadoop Hive.
  • Understand Tableau Desktop and Server architecture for report authoring, publishing, and management.
Preferred
  • SQL (any flavor).
  • Scripting Language (Python, R, Java, etc).
Education Required
  • Bachelors or better in Statistics or related field
  • Bachelors or better in Computer Science or related field
Preferred
  • Masters or better in Statistics or related field
