SummaryThis position is part of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency.ResponsibilitiesAs a REGIONAL ENGAGEMENT ANALYST at the GS-0301-13 some of your typical work assignments may include: Provide analysis of partner country capability needs, train and equip requirements, and associated costs using the Proliferation Security Initiative (PSI), International Counterproliferation Program (ICP), Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) Preparedness Program (CP2), CBRN Military Advisory Teams (CMAT), other counterproliferation and CBRN response operations in the INDOPACOM AOR Support development, management and execution of DoD and interagency CWMD activities relating to national and DoD CWMD strategy, policy, guidance, and direction. Work in the USINDOPACOM Regional Engagement Division to provide responsive, interdisciplinary, expert analysis in CWMD policy forums and other roles in relation to the CWMD mission and functional responsibilities representing DTRA to Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), Joint Staff (JS), Combatant Commands (CCMD) and Interagency. Foster cooperation between DoD, USG, and partner nation representatives. Lead USG, interagency and support contractor teams in order to develop and conduct workshops, provide subject matter experts exchanges, exercises, and other activities supporting CCMD and partner country policy development and train and equip efforts in accordance with DoD guidance. Communicate both orally and in writing in order to formulate and present authoritative CWMD policy, strategies, plans, operations, and mission briefs to senior level USG and partner nation representatives. Work with individuals from differing international cultures and political backgrounds. Competencies:Oversee establishment of plans, processes and procedures that define strategic project goals, objectives, priorities, and milestones.Oversee planning, organization, and implementation of international projects to build partner capacity.Overseeing and guiding the timely and effective completion of staff products and activities associated with Department of Defense and United States government national level policy matters.RequirementsConditions of EmploymentQualificationsYou may qualify at the GS-13 grade level, if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service: Serving as an analyst, with an emphasis on management and execution of the Proliferation Security Initiative (PSI), International Counterproliferation Program (ICP), Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) Preparedness Program (CP2), CBRN Military Advisory Teams (CMAT), other assigned activities; Providing analysis in CWMD policy forums to synchronize WMD counterproliferation and training efforts; Assessing and identifying CBRN response and WMD counterproliferation shortfalls, monitors progression of training and evaluates the effectiveness of those efforts. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
