Job Summary
Assists in the daily operations of the kitchen, including menu development, inventory and purchasing of supplies, and cost control. Oversees the activities of the kitchen staff and monitors food production and presentation.
Primary Duties

Prepare daily production list and ensures that all stations remain stocked before and during the meal period
Verify that kitchen staff follows all recipes and portions servings correctly
Keep kitchen, dish, and storage areas clean and organized
Place food and supply orders as directed
Perform other related duties as assigned
Additional Responsibilities
Set excellent customer service and work examples
Manage staffing levels throughout shift
Oversee kitchen labor and food cost to budgetary requirements
Perform additional related responsibilities as directed by management
Qualifications: Education, Experience and Certification(s)
College or culinary training or extensive cooking and production experience required
3 to 5 years' progressive professional cooking experience required
A minimum of two years working in management required
Culinary experience in a hotel or banquet hall preferred
ServSafe (Renew every 5 Years) certification required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong interest in training and coaching and the ability to fill-in for any kitchen position
Computer literacy: MS Word and Excel and works well under pressure
Commitment to quality service, and food and beverage knowledge.
Comprehend basic math skills
Understand the proper use and maintenance of major kitchen equipment, including stoves, refrigeration, slicer, knives, and dish machine
Professional communication skills, oral and written
Ability to work in a high-energy and demanding environment
Demonstrates strong leadership skills and is a team player
Can effectively solve problems
