We are currently seeking experienced woodworkers to join us in Charlottesville to help us enhance our ability to meet the needs of our customers. Youll need to have direct experience working in a shop creating architectural millwork and/or furniture. Your work must be of high quality, but you must also be able to work in a fast-paced, production setting. As well, you must be willing to embrace the skills of those around you and have an ability to work as part of a team.
Below are some of the abilities we are looking for. If you dont possess all of these, we are willing to help you learn and we encourage you to apply. But please do note that this is not an apprentice-level position we are looking for those with relevant experience.
Must be proficient at reading and working from architectural drawings and shop drawings accurately this is a non-negotiable
Create and organize cut lists for specific jobs in order to determine layouts, correct construction methods, materials, and parts
Perform woodworking tasks such as, but not limited to, milling/shaping lumber, panel processing, ripping, crosscutting, sanding, all equipment/machinery functions, case construction, laminating, solid wood work, door construction, veneer work, veneer matching, gluing, and pressing on both interior and exterior millwork
Use assembly machinery chain and chisel mortising, sliding table saw, frame clamp, table saw, chop saws and band saw after proper instruction has been established
Understand curved work thoroughly including proper joinery
Use milling machinery jointer, planer, resaw machine, shaper, tenoner and table saws
Have a complete and thorough understanding of shaper set-up and running both straight and radius components
Create fine traditional joinery such as mortise and tenon, lock miter, dovetail and French miter as well as more conventional joinery such as using dowels, pocket screws and vacuum press bags
Install hardware installation and reassemble finished products
Follow a project through to its completion and be responsible for the job's schedule and quality, while setting the finishing team up for success by the quality of work you and you team can produce
Must be physically qualified to lift and carry 75 pounds and perform assigned tasks that require lifting, bending, stooping and kneeling
