As a DevOps Engineer, the candidate will assess,analyze, and advise sponsors on DevOps adoption and transformation. Thesuccessful candidate will develop successful relationships with individuals inthe SETC, across MITRE, and with external organizations.This position is based in McLean, VA.Responsibilitiesinclude:
Apply your expertise in the domains of IT resources, IT infrastructure, clouding computing, organizational and business process change as it related to enterprise DevOps adoption. Work may be “hands on” and/or reviewing and advising at more senior sponsor levels
Utilize your experience with application release automation, continuous integration tools, and continuous delivery under an Agile Methodology in the development of software
Assist project team(s) with continuous integration, delivery, and deployment efforts
Analyze sponsors’ development and operations performance and automation processes
Design, develop, enhance, and debug software, hardware, and/or system
Provide inputs to sponsors’ DevOps technology stacks
Participate with industry, academia, and MITRE researchers in DevOps-related innovative and technical initiatives
QualificationsBasicQualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity or related field
5 years of relevant experience
Required Qualifications:
Must be a U.S. citizen with current/active DoD clearance
Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, and Word
Must have demonstrated proficiency and strength in verbal, written, PC, presentation, and communications skills in helping non-technical audience understand complex technical concepts
Experience in crafting DevOps pipelines involving Lean-Agile Project Managements software (e.g., JIRA Software, Pivotal Tracker, Trello, Redmine, Taiga), git-based CMS (e.g., Gogs, GitLab, BitBucket), a Continuous Integration/Delivery/Deployment pipeline orchestrators (e.g., Jenkins CI, Drone, Travis CI, CircleCI, Concourse CI) and SAST and DAST tooling (e.g., SonarQube, HPF, OWASP Dependency Checker), functional testing (e.g., UFT, Selenium, SoapUI)
Hands-on experience in analyzing, establishing, and evolving organizational DevOps culture and toolsets in enterprise level environments
Experience with developing for various Cloud Services Providers (e.g., Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, OpenStack) to include provisioning and configuring to use of functional services, and containerization services
Scripting in multiple programming and infrastructure automation languages (e.g. Go, Python, Terraform, Chef, Puppet, Ansible)
Creation of lightweight, reproducible, and portable development environments via Vagrant
PreferredQualifications:
Advanced degree in technical field of study
Candidates that possess a current/active US Government clearance are preferred
Creation of machine images (e.g., AMIs, VMDK/VMX, OVF) via Packer
Experience containerizing one or more applications into Docker using Dockerfile and Docker-compose
Familiarity with monitoring, log analytics, and metrics capture tools for (e.g., Elastic Stack, Splunk, Fluentd)
Ability to automate deployments using Puppet, Chef, or Ansible.
Familiarity with Cybersecurity needs of operational systems and system administrator skills
Experience with applying mitigations and vulnerability patching in accordance with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIG) so as to minimize security threats
Experience with one or more of the following virtualization technologies: VMware (e.g., ESXi Enterprise, vCenter), OpenStack, and Microsoft Hyper-V
Ability to track and maintain awareness of relevant vulnerabilities and exposures
Experience with Markup Languages and formatting such as XML, JSON, Markdown
