Busy Manufacturing Plant in Amherst VA is looking for a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd Shift Material Handler with prior construction experience.Light IndustrialDescription:Description:A Qualified Material Handler will: Retrieve raw materials for construction and assemblyPrepare basic assemblies for processingAssist in setting up unit components into final assembled unitsAbility to use a variety of sheet metal tools Clean completed units and debur metal partsHOURS OF SHIFTS:1st Shift - Monday - Friday, some weekends 7:00am - 3:00pm2nd Shift Monday - Friday, some weekends 3:00pm- 11:00pm3rd Shift -Sunday - Thursday, some weekends 11:00pm-7:00amIf overtime is needed, must be able to report as early as one hour before your shift to meet production deadlinesSome Friday Work May Be RequiredPaid Weekly.Medical, Dental and Vision coverage options are availableThis position offers possible pay increases, after 90 and 180 day, depending on Attendance and Performance ReviewsQualifications:Qualified Material Handler Candidates need to meet the following criteria:High School diploma or Equivalent requiredMust be able to pass math and measuring testConstruction background is highly recommendedPrevious Assembly experience is neededMust be able to work, effectively and efficiently, in a fast paced environmentMust be able to stand, stoop, bend, squat,and twist.Must be able to repetitively lift, up to 50lbs, for entire shiftMust be comfortable working on ladders and other equipmentPre-employment drug screen is required for consideration of employmentApplicant may be subject to a background check - A conviction record will not necessarily prevent you from being employed.
