Freelance/On-Call Communications Specialist, Remote


Our client, based out of McLean, VA, has on call needs for Communications Specialists. Most opportunities are remote. Some may require on-site work.

Description


Our client is seeking Communications Specialists to serve as an on-call resource for their Health Strategic Communications team. This is an excellent opportunity for a communications professional with strong customer service skills, excellent writing ability and a passion for improving communication products.


The ideal candidate is a versatile writer/editor/communications generalist that will be researching and interviewing subject matter experts at various levels across the organization to gather information and deliver accurate, concise and impactful writing.


Responsibilities



  • Works collaboratively with a variety of subject matter experts to understand advanced technical concepts and develops clear, accurate, and comprehensive communications appropriate for the intended audience.

  • Prepares content for multiple delivery channels, modifying content to match the requirements of the given channel and target audience.

  • Applies appropriate level of creativity to assignments to draw desired stakeholder attention and interest to content.

  • Ensures a high level of quality and consistency in communication products, project scheduling and project execution.

  • Manages content development and recommends graphical approaches to depict complex topics.



Requirements



  • Experienced writer/editor/communications specialist.

  • A deep understanding and utility with MS Word and section 508 compliance is required.
