Job Description:
Leidos is seeking a Systems Architect for a position in the Mclean, VA area. Leidos requires support for a lead technical resource for strategic oversight and planning of database structural design and development. This position requires an active TS/SCI with Polygraph in order to be considered.
The Systems Architect shall provide technical and strategic guidance to senior level database administrators and application developers in the creation and implementation of new databases. The Systems Architect shall provide technical and strategic guidance regarding the maintenance of existing databases to support evolving applications, provide strategic guidance on the development and implementation of data models to support business processes, develop policies and procedures to build, maintain and leverage the data model. The Systems Architect shall lead and consult on the design, development and implementation of logical database structures and classification schema. The Systems Architect shall provide technical and strategic guidance on the development of metadata tags, Document Type Definitions (DTD), and schemas using appropriate technologies for representation such as HTML and XML.
The Systems Architect shall ensure that metadata, data standards, and definitions will support business processes and system implementations thereof, and organizational requirements for sharing data. The Systems Architect shall plan IT efforts such as site surveys and LAN expansions. The Systems Architect shall identify issues, negotiate changes, and analyze complex requirements with stakeholders, participate at information systems architectural boards, analyze factors such as system requirements, system performance, and life cycle costs to determine the architectural impact. The Systems Architect shall provide project estimates, project schedules, project implementation, and project maintenance. The Systems Architect shall develop enterprise-level systems architecture that correlates with operations and requirements. The Systems Architect shall architect solutions that support IT requirements, identify system inconsistencies and provide recommendations for corrective actions to stakeholders, create architectural designs for systems and related medical services, provide translation of the architecture designs into integrated system designs, participate in program meetings and system reviews. The Systems Architect shall evaluate software to ensure that it meets required needs, evaluate technical documentation to ensure that it meets requirements, coordinate with managers and appropriate technical leads, create artifacts such as CONOPS, engineering guidance, and standards documentation.
