Job Description
The Defense Group Office of Technology at Leidos currently has an opening for a Systems Engineering Solution Architect to work in our Logistics and Mission Support Operation. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver innovative services or a combination of products and services that help our customers develop, integrate, and use models to inform enterprise and program decision-making throughout system lifecycles. Responsibilities include: engaging in customer shaping efforts, requirements gathering, and proposal support activities; leveraging understanding of industry trends and Leidos capabilities to craft solutions and compose strategies for effective technology insertion. In addition, the Digital Engineering Solutions Architect will work as an interface between programs, customers and Leidos senior management, ensuring Leidos management understanding of customer domain, pain points, and strategy to drive business development initiatives and ensure success of high-value capture and on-contract growth opportunities.

Primary Responsibilities
Responsible for the management of the Digital Engineering function for programs and / or proposal activities. Will apply past experience, knowledge and skills to provide recommendations regarding system development, testing, sustainment and enhancement. Organizes project and task work-loads and selects individuals most qualified for assignments on specific projects. Ensures progress according to technical objectives. Leads Model-based systems engineering (MBSE) efforts: formalizing application of modeling to support system requirements, design, analysis, verification and validation activities beginning with conceptual design and continuing throughout development and later life cycle phases. Leads efforts to integrate and maintain MBSE, Product Lifecycle Management, and other specialized analysis tools and models using DevSecOps and Agile software practices. Supports customer engagements by developing and presenting papers and briefing materials. Establishes design concepts; criteria and engineering efforts for product research; development; integration and test. Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules; identifies program problems and obtains solutions; such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications. Position requires the flexibility to work on short notice, overtime, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Software Engineering, or related discipline with 12-15 years' relevant experience as a Systems Engineer and/or Software Engineer on programs and contracts or Masters with 10-13 years of prior relevant experience.
Deep understanding of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices.
Proficiency in SysML and DODAF/UPDM/UAF.
Experience applying SysML-based MBSE methods, tools, and frameworks to develop rigorous specifications and designs of commercial and/or DoD systems/components.
Experience with MBSE tools such as No Magic's Cameo Systems Modeler, Collaborator, Teamwork Cloud.
Able to synthesize knowledge from multiple domains to apply to new, complicated problems.
Demonstrated ability to diagnose complex system problems and develop innovative solutions.
Demonstrated ability to participate in cross-functional planning, coordination, and task execution situations involving the full spectrum of system integration activities.
Must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Must be able to work independently to develop innovative modeling approaches and optimizations.
Strong written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with customer representatives, domain experts, and other systems engineers in the development of complex software systems.
Ability to work well with people from many different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience.
Ability to express complex technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Must be a U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
Requires US Citizenship and active Secret Clearance
Proven ability to reach out to Industry, Academia, and the USG Lab system synchronizing efforts across multiple lines of research, development and funding
Knowledgeable in program management methodology and techniques; performance evaluation and change management principles
Demonstrated ability in the areas of personnel planning, project reviews, scheduling, and budget control
Qualified applicant will possess excellent managerial and leadership skills

Preferred Qualifications
Current PMP certification
Operational experience in the USAF
Working knowledge of USAF C5ISR systems
Previous experience managing complex System designs efforts / contracts
Demonstrated ability to work across internal functions and with outside entities to facilitate successful product completion/delivery
Master's degree in Systems Engineering.
Leadership experience.
Defense industry experience.
Experience with Product Lifecycle Management tools such as Teamcenter, PTC, and 3DExperience
Experience with DevSecOps and Agile Software Practices
