This is an exceptional opportunity to do innovative work that means more to you and those we serve at one of America's leading health benefits companies and a Fortune Top 50 Company.Business Development Specialist SeniorWork location: Any Anthem stateResponsible for identifying and developing new business growth initiatives within Large Group Segment Strategy by maximizing strategies and growth opportunities in targeted markets identified through the annual planning process. Across Anthem, more than 2.7 million Jointly Administered Arrangement (JAA) members have provider access to the National BlueCard® PPO and Alt-Net network products. JAA is jointly administered on both WGS and NASCO.Primary duties to include, but are not limited to:

Monitors and analyzes Jointly Administered Arrangement (JAA) and Jointly Integrated Arrangement (JIA) product lines to help determine optimal strategy, which includes monitoring and analyzing of third party payer relationships, including eligibility, claim processing, member services and 3rd party vendor arrangements.

Provides research, analysis and recommendations on the external environment as part of the development of strategic plans for the business unit.

Manages and is ultimately accountable for developing and executing JAA and JIA business readiness in result of Anthem projects (SSCRs). This includes spearheading TPA communications, federal mandates, association mandates, and go to market readiness for sales and account management.

Analyzes major competitor strategies.

Identifies and monitors changing patterns of competition and recommends responses.

Acquires and maintains data/information on market, industry, economic, consumer and competitive conditions and trends pertaining to health insurance/managed care and related services.

Requires a BA/BS degree; 2 years of business development experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Experience working in the managed care / healthcare insurance industry strongly preferred.
