Description: Will be part of the Aegis Modernization Team supporting Aegis Combat Systems Ship Installation Test and Trials in Norfolk, Virginia and with our Navy customer.Primary responsibility centers around the installation, test and repair of Combat System equipment (ORDALTS, SHIPALTS, FMB’s) on USN and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) surface combatants throughout the world. Position is as a SPY Systems Engineer.Will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and will also be required to submit to drug screening per company policy. Extensive travel will be required; as much as 25%.Basic Qualifications:Experience repairing/maintaining electrical, mechanical and electronics equipment.Ability to read and interpret equipment upgrade/repair instructions.Shipboard Electrical and Mechanical Hardware identification/awareness.Basic knowledge Microsoft Office programs.Familiarity with basic Personal Protection Equipment.Good organizational skills/Detail oriented.Must be able to work in a multi-corporate team environment, possess strong communication skills and display solid personal computer skills to include MS Office applications.Interim clearance required to be considered, which requires U.S. citizenship.Desired Skills:Ability to read to and interpret equipment drawings, Wire Connection List’s, and Installation Control DrawingsBachelors degree in a scientific or technical field of study. Knowledge of and experience with Aegis systems in particular SPY-1 operations and maintenance. Familiarity with multiple AWS Baselines is a plus.
