Make a difference in the lives of Middle and High School Youth. Yorkminster seeks a mature Christian young adult who relates well to these age groups to serve for the 2020-2021 academic year. Depending on the candidate’s availability, there may be summer opportunities for working with the youth. This position can serve as an internship if it meets the parameters for the candidate's school
Generally, the position involves working with the Associate Pastor for Youth (AP) to plan and carry out weekly activities with youth, and leading devotions as appropriate.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Growing commitment to the Christian faith, the body of Christ, and God's work in the world.
Ability to work effectively with youth, exhibiting creativity, understanding and patience. Competency in multiple social media platforms and virtual meetings a must! Must be flexible, and comfortable with changing plans as prudent.
Ability to verbally articulate personal faith in Christ and a Christian world view.
Ideally the applicant should be a mature young adult, at least two years beyond high school.
For the Youth Assistant, this position is an opportunity to work in an atmosphere of personal and professional guidance and support, to discern spiritual gifts and share them with youth, and to develop spiritually and theologically.
