Summary of Position Role
Responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of scalable solutions for ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, KPIs, and drivers. Provide analytics to the C-suite and functional leaders. Delivers insights, recommendations and analytics needs and decision support to senior leadership, 'telling the story' and identifying drivers and opportunities for business performance improvements. Assist in developing enterprise business intelligence capabilities and democratizing data across the organization. Supports the implementation of analytics across the organization. Partners with various business leaders throughout the organization in providing recommendations for data governance and reporting.

Examples of Specific Tasks/Responsibilities
Demonstrate thought leadership in business intelligence, analytics and data visualization, instilling best practices across the company using Business Intelligence tools and philosophies, development and tuning of statistical models, and deployment/transition of production ready models
Lead analysis in key econometric and statistical techniques (such as predictive modeling, logistic regression, panel data models, design of experiments, decision trees, machine learning methods). Communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and through written communication via model validation reports and presentations.
Spearhead initiatives through change management and process improvements. Implement user acceptance testing, make recommendations to promote data driven decision making and prepare the business for system readiness.
Execute meaningful data science strategies and apply advanced data analytics, including structured, unstructured, or relational, data mining, and machine learning techniques used in Executive level presentations.
Principal stakeholder in driving opportunities to automate processes and streamline reporting by using automation tools such as, Robotic Process Automation (RPA) methods and Power Automate.
Lead efforts to streamline support of vendor relationships, contractors, and external stakeholders.
As applicable, develop and mentor staff at all levels building an internal capacity to deliver high quality and innovative analytics services
Delivers ongoing reports for monthly/quarterly scorecard results, Corporate Governance drivers, and Integrated Planning sessions
Merge and execute data exploration, model selections, architecture, validation, deployment, business user training, and monitoring.
Lead Washington Gas Power BI Users group cascading internal best practice, content creation and knowledge transfer to peers.
Enhance and develop scripting language (R, DAX, SQL, Python, SAAS) or other coding mechanism to organize big data and conduct analyses to identify trends and formulate conclusions and recommendations.
Lead meetings with management, including mid and senior level leadership to facilitate an understanding of strategic objectives.
Transform BIG data used for scenario analysis and low carbon strategies. Lead efforts to analyze discrete findings, business process requirements, policy and procedures, cost, benefits, and risk assessments.
Conduct predictive analysis of large data sets and maintain a good understanding of processes related to CapEx and O&M.
Develop geospatial analytics using GIS/mapping software for analytical reporting and presentations

Skills and Abilities
Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Business, Data Science, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Statistics or other relatable quantitative field is required.
Master's Degree in Data Analytics Engineering or Master's Degree in Statistics preferred.
7+ Years experience in business intelligence and statistical analysis. A master's degree can be substituted for 2 years of directly related experience. required
5+ years of experience with data analysis (i.e., statistical and quantitative analyses) and user-focused dashboard design
Advanced knowledge with using SQL database technologies (e.g., MS SSRS/SSIS, PostgreSQL) in conjunction with BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, QlikView)
Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize diverse tasks with a proven ability to meet hard deadlines
Ability to thrive in an unstructured, fast-moving and constantly evolving high growth environment
Ability to execute projects and tasks with minimal guidance and supervision
Possession of excellent problem-solving skills
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex messages to diverse audiences at all organization levels, both verbally and in writing.

Experience performing quantitative analyses and communicating key findings and recommendations. Experience performing qualitative analyses to help support/refute quantitative findings
At least two years of experience leading or working in multi-disciplinary teams or working groups required
Working knowledge of relational database systems is preferred
Proven experience with Washington Gas IT systems including ARM, SAP and Smallworld is preferred.
Proven ability to use computer software and applications including Microsoft Office to share, retrieve, research and present business information.
Proficient at Excel, including ability to: create basic charts and data visualizations, import and manipulate data from external sources, construct and manipulate pivot tables, use built-in lookup and financial functions.
Intermediate knowledge of the natural gas industry or other regulated utilities, including rate structures
