Your Role and Responsibilities

Kyndryl is looking for leaders who are passionate about helping some of the world's biggest companies to successfully achieve their Data Center Transformation. Do you know enough about Hybrid Cloud, Data Center Infrastructure, Hypervisors, Databases, Linux/Unix, Modernization or Migration Consulting to help our customers to move their workloads from Anywhere to Anywhere? Can you break that knowledge down for our clients to show them their opportunities and solve their risks?

Our Cloud Migration and Modernization Specialists are leaders. They've gained 6+ years' experience in technology, 6+ years' experience in working with databases On-Premises and in the cloud and are ready to make a meaningful impact on our clients. Sometimes that leadership manifests in such deep technical expertise that they can lead and perform hands-on technical build, migration, and technical designs for projects to achieve client's transformations and to help rescue clients from blocked or difficult projects. Translating client requirements, understanding client's circumstances, and executing project services to support the design and implementation of converged infrastructure solutions, in order to deliver cloud operations, consolidate and protect workloads. You will use assets and reference architectures, build proof-of concepts, build and execute implementation plans, testing plans and deployment plans to address client requirements and work with products or solutions based on partner hardware and/or partner software.

Responsibilities:
  • Working with project managers, and platform specialists to drive assessment, discovery, and migrations
  • Attend client workshops to articulate scope, method, and approach for the migration, working with subject matter experts to build the migration strategy, co-creating and developing a viable solution
  • Remediate and adapt client architectures to take advantage of the Cloud
  • Identifying technical solutions to migration milestones, using best practices and blueprints, in order to guide client teams to implement them
  • Validate move success, monitoring tools integration, CI/CD integration, and hand-over after migration execution
  • Validate target infrastructure readiness for migration
  • Drive the implementation of special migration methods like cluster migration, storage, or data migration
  • Accountable for successful delivery of highly complex, multi-disciplined consulting engagements that deliver lasting and measurable value to clients
  • Facilitate and capture lessons learned from projects to update methodologies and assets
  • Be a recognized as a technical though leader inside and outside of IBM
  • Support company initiatives for offerings, contracts, technologies, and go-to-market
  • Set priorities to build technical architectural and project assets/deliverables for repurposing
  • Successfully lead Customer's migration and transformation projects

If you are hired into a Colorado work location, the anticipated compensation range for the position $63,300 to $172,500 is based on a full-time schedule. Your ultimate compensation may vary depending on your job-related skills and experience. For part time roles, the compensation will be adjusted appropriately.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Applied Azure and/or AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform infrastructure engineering skills
  • Applied Azure and/or AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform migration solutions
  • Server Platforms (Windows, Linux, or UNIX)
  • Virtualization Infrastructures (Hyper-V, VMWare, etc.)
  • Understanding of up-to-date Network architecture concepts and system integration principles including high-end routers / switches, Network & Security, Network Virtualization, Cloud Network Deployments, and other related infrastructure and system components.
  • Good understanding of middleware, networking, application architecture, shared services and other components of n-tier applications.
  • Leading teams towards an outcome and break down impediments
  • 1 to 2 years "Hands-on" AWS and/or Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform implementation experience
  • Applied Implementation "Hands on" using Methods and/or best practices to deliver Cloud, On-Premises or Hybrid Solution
  • Applied Migration Solutions (high-level technical design, low-level technical design)
  • Applied Journey to Cloud Transformations (to IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) strategies and principles

  • Applied Project Management practices
  • Ability to Interpret requirements and create solutions

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

  • Database Engines (Oracle, MS SQL Server, Maria, MySQL, etc.)
  • SRE experience across multiple cloud platforms
  • SAP Migrations
  • Storage (IBM/EMC/HP/Hitachi/NetApp)
