Job Description:
The role is onsite 5 days a week. The "normal" schedule for this person is Monday - Friday 6:30 p.m to 2:00 a.m.

There is FREE PARKING at the facility.

This is a Contract to Hire role. If the contractor applies for the Classified position, we could possibly work something out on a start date but the goal is to get them transitioned to FTE employee asap. NO guarantees if they apply for FTE role they will be selected. They must go thru reg hiring process for the client.

EVENING SHIFT WORK is required (see schedule below). Some of the shift can be evening and some during the day. See below.

All shifts are 40 hrs /week but there will NOT be a rate differential for the evening hours because of the higher level/rate being provided.

Shift will typically be scheduled Monday through Friday from 6:30 p.m - 2:00 a.m., but may change to provide supplemental support (to include but not limited to 7:30 a.m.- 4:00 p.m., 3:30p.m.- midnight, and 11:30p.m.- 8:00a.m.) as business needs dictate.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Execute the work of client production and print operations for IBM mainframe and non-mainframe applications, ensuring system generated print jobs, correspondence and reports are produced timely and appropriately. Provide direct support to meet the client’s system and business needs, related to operations and print production. Work collaboratively with business and IT staff to approve batch documentation; submit batch jobs; review batch process output and work products; follow and execute batch documentation instructions for exception processing; run special emergency-fix jobs; schedule, distribute and troubleshoot print jobs; maintain and adjust printers; initiate printer service calls when needed; and move applications and systems into production or production-like environments, as needed. Ensure compliance with the appropriate security policy to secure the client’s production and print operations, and assist the Disaster Recovery Coordinator with implementing the activities of the Disaster Recovery Plan when it is activated or being tested.

Scheduling software and applications will be taught as needed.

Required Skills:
  • Considerable understanding of a production print operations (5 years)
  • Considerable knowledge of executing daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly batch schedules. (5 years)
  • Basic understanding of batch scheduling software or methods (5 years)
  • Strong analytical and problem resolution skills (5 years)
  • Ability to communicate effectively (both oral and written) (5 years)
