Patient Coordinator (West End Location)
Growing multi-doctor oral surgery practice currently has an opening for a full-time Patient Coordinator. We value candidates with excellent communication and customer service skills. Applicants should have intermediate computer skills and a stable employment history. Some medical or dental office experience preferred.

Job Summary:
Patient coordinators handle the clinics clerical responsibilities of patient care. They present themselves as professionals while carrying out these duties. A Patient Coordinators image and presentation to patients are a reflection both on the doctors and on our Practice. Through teamwork, patient coordinators keep the office flow moving in a smooth and efficient manner, while maintaining a positive, respectful, and caring attitude toward patients, doctors, and co-workers.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
All shall be performed in accordance with OSHA, DEA, HIPAA, and COFS guidelines.
ï§ Promptly greet all incoming patients and visitors
ï§ Answer phones promptly, assist caller or take messages and relay to appropriate persons
ï§ Schedule appointments
ï§ Review patient registration information for accuracy and thoroughness
ï§ Copy insurance card and drivers licenses, get signatures on consent, financial, and HIPAA forms, and set up charts
ï§ Input patient demographics into the computer
ï§ Collect estimated payments and co-pays from all patients at time of appointment
ï§ Start case and attach appropriate narratives in EHR / patient software system
ï§ Give financial estimate to all patients prior to surgery; enter patient treatment plans into computer
ï§ Schedule MRIs or other diagnostic tests at the direction of the Doctor
ï§ Evaluate the Appointment Schedule daily for accuracy and efficiency; make schedule changes as necessary
ï§ Prepare following days patients by acquiring required radiographs and documents
ï§ Daily close out credit card machine and balance payments; send to business office
ï§ Daily prepare and send to business office all virtual scan forms
ï§ Be proficient in the use of the Practice Management software system (Vision OMS)
ï§ Have a working knowledge of dental/medical terminology
ï§ Have a working knowledge of insurance participation, verification, pre-determination and pre-authorization; knowledge of insurance terminology
ï§ Be accurate in all computer input
Qualifications:
ï§ H.S. diploma or equivalent
ï§ Excellent communication and organizational skills, level-headed, dependable, courteous, compassionate, multi-task capabilities, receptive to new ideas, ability to prioritize, self-motivator, good math and windows-based computer skills, problem solving abilities, and willing to take initiative
