COURSE: BRANDERMILL COUNTRY CLUB/ BIRKDALE GOLF CLUB/ HANOVER GOLF CLUB
JOB TITLE: Maintenance Operators PAY: Full Time $9.50-$10.50 per/hr.
SUMMARY: Assist with all aspects of maintaining a golf course. These job tasks include but are not limited to weeding, prune and trim trees and plants, Cut grass with a variety of different equipment, Rake bunkers, Remove litter and garbage, Cart and spread topsoil and other materials, Lay sod or seed, Plant bulbs, flowers, shrubs and trees, Apply fertilizers, Water, Clear snow (manually, mechanized equipment, truck or scraper), Help maintain All equipment.
Working Conditions: Work hours may include days and evenings on weekdays and weekends. Subject to inside and outside environmental conditions. May be exposed to inclement weather, potentially dangerous chemicals, solvents, pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers, misdirected golf balls, sharp and rapid equipment movement daily. Injury may result as a result of exposure to the above if safety policies and practices are not properly followed.
Qualifications: Previous landscape or golf course experience is preferred but not required. Knowledge of the game of golf is a must.
Physical Requirements Include, But Not Limited To: Must have the ability to:
ï Read and write (English)
ï Communicate verbally with staff members and/or customers with or without the use of two-way radios.
ï Give and/or follow verbal and written instructions from your supervisor
ï Always Follow safety regulations.
ï See players on the golf course, and to follow the flight of golf balls
ï Operate vehicles and equipment for several hours at a time
ï Stand, sit, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, bend and kneel for up to 5 hours at a time
ï Lift up to 100 lbs. occasionally, 50 lbs. frequently, and 20 lbs. constantly
COURSE: WINDY HILL SPORTS COMPLEX
JOB TITLE: Golf Course Superintendent PAY: $30-$35,000/ yr.
SUMMARY: This candidate will work closely with Acumen Golf, a local consulting firm, to not only achieve current owners expectations but find creative ways to exceed their expectations while limiting overall expenses. This position is ideal for local Assistant Superintendents or Foreman looking to move up the ranks to become a Golf Course Superintendent. Mechanical experience is a must and at least two-three years working on a golf course.
Working Conditions: Work hours may include days and evenings on weekdays and weekends. Subject to inside and outside environmental conditions. May be exposed to inclement weather, potentially dangerous chemicals, solvents, pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers, misdirected golf balls, sharp and rapid equipment movement daily. Qualifications: A successful candidate must possess a positive attitude; detail oriented, good communication skills, and the ability to listen. This candidate must have enthusiasm to achieve the most knowledge and experience they can, with a drive to better themselves and this facility.
