Job Description

My name is Jason Bond and I'm the owner of Henrico based True Handyman, LLC. I started the company in 2013 and we have grown our customer base to over 1200 customers over the past 5 years. We've grown mostly by word of mouth as integrity is the center of our culture. My goal is to find the person that will take ownership and act as an Operations Manager vs. an "office manager".

POSITION DETAILS:

Part time W-2: Hourly position: Average of 20 hours per week. Variances of plus or minus 5 hours may be needed based on business need (likely more towards the plus side).

Compensation:$16-$20 per hour based on experience.

PTO: 40 hours PTO. (vacation/sick combined) .77 hours accrued weekly after two months on board.

Schedule:Mon, Tue, Wed "flexible" part time: Approx 4 hours per day to handle scheduling, accounting, etc.

Thursdays- 8 hours : Handle payroll and invoicing from prior week.

Three day weekend. (Fri Sat Sun)

Potential to work from home: Once trained and competent at all skills, the opportunity to work from home will be available. If working from home causes business interruption or other concerns, that opportunity would be withdrawn.

Company Growth inventive: For every technician we add to the company, the Operations Manager receives an extra dollar per hour/conversely, if we lose a technician, that dollar goes away but the base agreed pay is guaranteed. We are currently at 3 "full time" technicians/subs who average 30 plus hours per week. If we can get to 6 or more technicians/subs, the opportunity for full time work would likely exist.

Other Bonuses/ Perks: Exceptional office manager would have the opportunity to earn bonuses in relation to their enhancements to the companies efficiency, growth and profitability.

Typical day for the Owner: I have made some recent process changes that have increased efficiency. I thought it would be good for candidates to know what I do on a daily basis. I work in the field on projects and write estimates. Our incoming call volume is low enough that I handle incoming calls and write estimates remotely using a phone estimate form. After I complete an estimate and the customer would like to book the job, I email the form to the customer and the office manager. For large estimates I need to see, I will pass the customer off to the office manager to schedule the estimate. I also handle check deposits, check writing, phone payments.

Typical day for the Operations Manager: Mon, Tue, WedIncoming call, text email overflow. Scheduling technicians for jobs with our customers using our CRM software. Marketing to realtors and property managers, updating our website with new before and after pics. Recruiting talent to help grow our company. Thursday is a big day, our technicians/subs turn in their time cards and material receipts and they need to be entered into Quickbooks so we can calculate their payment for the week. Once that is complete, we update the receipts in Quickbooks and email invoices to customers. Typically that takes about 5-6 hours so any additional time is spent prepping the schedule for the next week. Each day, we will have a 1/2 hour call to discuss any items you have questions about how to handle incoming calls, texts, emails or process. After the call, you will be able to respond to customers regarding these matters.

REQUIRED SKILLS TO APPLY:

Quickbooks: Estimates, Invoicing, Receipt Tracking, Book Balancing

Strong Communications and Interpersonal skills: Office Phone, email, Appointment setting using Customer Relationship Software, Following up unpaid invoices(not collections, I handle that).

Strong Computer and Organizational Skills: Excel, Microsoft product including Word and OneNote. Continue development of our HR manuals, best practices and inventory tracking. Responsible for on-boarding and off-boarding paperwork for technicians/subs.

On-boarding Process: Initial training will occur at home office in the West End. Field ride along's are available to further understand our processes but not required.
