Job Description and Responsibilities :

The Foreman will provide on-site supervision of all construction related activities including, erection and repair of towers and co-location system placement. This position will complete construction projects by scheduling materials, equipment, and personnel, monitoring projects, enforcing code and safety regulations, and supervising technicians and sub-contractors.

Primary Responsibilities:

Supervise and assist in the installation of all aspects of wire cell site RF Antenna installations

Lead tower top work and ensure that a quality and safe installation has been performed, including rigging, hoisting, landing, fastening, etc.

Observe and direct work to ensure the highest level of safety and quality control requirements are upheld

Perform tower inspections, inventories and audits

Review all documentation to prepare for installation, assemble the necessary materials, determine required installation methods, tools and equipment and direct crew subordinate

Identify and select cables, ropes, blocks, and tackle by weight and size of load to be moved

Maintain equipment and material inventory on crew truck(s)

Collect and review all on-site closeout documentation and submit to the project manager per the deliverable timelines

Coordinate with the site owner representative for site related activities and maintain a good working relationship with each

Provide direction to Crane Operators engaged in hoisting and moving loads, to ensure the safety of others and material handled

Train junior crew staff members

Attend regular safety meetings

Requirements :

Education:

High School diploma or general education degree (GED); related trade school education preferred

Experience:

5-7 years of tower climbing experience, at least 2-4 years managing a crew

Previous experience as a foreman on tower and antennae systems related scopes

Specific experience with wireless carrier builds and maintenance

Ability to demonstrate connector applications

Must have an understanding of the installation and testing of the latest technologies (LTE, CDMA, UMTS)

Ability to read site installation documentation and build accordingly

Technical Skills:

Must have or be able to obtain OSHA Construction 30 hour Safety Training Card

Must have or obtain First Aid and CPR certification

Anritsu Site Master Certification is required

PIM Tester preferred, not required

RF Safety Awareness

Cellular antennae/mounting

Coaxial systems and diplexers

Successful completion of Comtrain or Gravitec training upon hire

Understanding and proficient remote electrical downtilts/Bias-T’s

Understanding and proficient Site and equipment grounding

Understanding and proficient Sweep/PIM testing

Demonstrated ability to install remote radio heads

Fiber/DC power hybrid cables

Civil/tower construction and quality assurance practices and procedures

Construction safety practices

Soft Skills:

Ability to consistently demonstrate sound ethics and judgment

Ability to think analytically and apply sound judgment, solve problems, make effective decisions, and act with integrity

Interpersonal skills necessary to develop and maintain effective and appropriate working relationships with customers, co-workers, and representatives of other agencies.

Highly organized and detail orientated

Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing

Must be able to climb and perform work at various heights, up to 400 feet, for long periods of time

Must be in good physical condition with the ability to stoop, crawl, bend at the knees and waist, squat and lift 50 lbs; includes body weight, equipment, tools and boxes

Must be able to pull his/her own body weight plus equipment weight up a vertical tower repeatedly for long periods of time

Must be willing to travel out of market/state up to 100% of the time

May be required to work long and unpredictable hours

Position requires working outdoors in all types of weather
