We are looking for a hands-on Web Development Manager to join our team in Virginia Beach, VA. In this role, you will oversee a team of Web Designers and Developers responsible for maintaining, upgrading, and expanding existing company websites and properties as well as create and deploy new ones.
What You’ll Do:
Lead the development and rollout of new website capabilities and content
Direct the efforts of a team of Web Developers/Designers in an Agile environment while making sure code quality, maintainability, development specs and technical standards are being met
Have a hands-on approach to contribute to the development of features and functionality
Own the development roadmaps for all properties; create/manage the plans for future website updates and performance improvements
Propose and drive the implementation of new processes and systems that result in significant improvements in the production pipeline
Contribute ideas for new web experiences and media for the Marketing Product staff
Balance simultaneous projects and appropriately prioritize tasks
Lead projects to improve reliability, security, and performance of our websites
Implement and enforce standards for page speed, code quality, on-page SEO, and other underlying fundamentals

What We’re Looking For:
5+ years of full-time experience developing ecommerce websites and web applications using HTML5, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, and SQL database
2+ years management experience
Strong skills in front-end design, coding and website performance management in an eCommerce environment
Experience performing A/B and multivariate testing
Solid understanding of web development in relation to online marketing strategies
Proficiency with common Content Management Systems such as WordPress
Experience working within a design system and maintaining/adhering to style guides
Working knowledge of marketing email standards and tools such as Constant Contact and ActiveCampaign, and how they relate to web development
Knowledge of CI/CD processes preferred
Previous experience in the hosting industry preferred
Familiarity with MVC frameworks, such as Symfony
Working knowledge of Bootstrap
Familiar with typical security vulnerabilities such as DDoS and brute force attacks, and how to implement preventable measures to combat these
