Job Title: Devops/Cloud Engineer

Terms: Permanent/direct hire

Remote/Onsite: 100% remote

Job Function / Summary:

The Cloud Engineer is responsible for any technological duties associated with cloud computing, including design, planning, management, maintenance and support. The Cloud Engineer will follow guiding principles provide by the Solution Architects ensuring compliance with Enterprise Architecture standards to provide the organization with well designed, complaint, stable, and valuable highly productive IT systems to meet operational demands, limit disruptions and create opportunities with the longer-term strategic vision of the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Researches, audits, tests, and sets standards for server operating systems, hardware, server virtualization, and cloud technologies to ensure compatibility and functionality in the enterprise.
  • Implements Group Policy and scripts (using various technologies) to manipulate cloud server functionality to meet business and security needs in the enterprise.
  • Independently develops reference materials (network diagrams, installation documentation, etc.) for supported network technologies to be used for both online and in-person training of other technical staff.
  • Lead the deployment and operation of cloud related infrastructure components.
  • Make recommendations for improvements to security, scalability, manageability, and performance across a wide variety of cloud network, storage, and compute technologies.
  • Formulate detailed network, storage, and compute design specifications for stable and secure computing operations in a dynamic cloud-based environment.
  • Liaise with customers, architecture leadership and technical teams, including systems and network administrators, security engineers, and IT Support teams.
  • Execute architecture blueprints and bring it to reality with a DevOps mindset & culture.
  • Build and configure build plans, code pipelines and create automated solutions that can be frame worked and re-used.
