We have an immediate need for an embedded systems engineer with wide range of abilities to work on next generation automatic door operators. Experience areas include:
Embedded systems hardware/software design using FreeRTOS, and no OS, bare metal systems
Analog/digital electronics including ADC, DAC, I2C, SPI, DMA, ARM, MSP430, filters
Motor control, BLDC, AC induction, brushed DC, PID loops
Battery circuits and chargers, power switching, low power operation
C, C, assembly, PHP, HTML, CSS, Javascript, SQL, Linux, virtual machines
RF, 433/900MHz modules, WiFi modules, Bluetooth
PCB layout (Eagle), schematic capture (Orcad)
Ability to solder, use oscilloscope, meters, test equipment
Basic 2D mechanical layout, AutoCAD LT
Mathematics including interpolation, algorithm design, efficiency computations, curve fitting, encryption, state machines
BSEE/BSET preferred, equivalent experience considered, including extracurricular activities such as ham radio, robotics, etc. This work is in a micro company environment where you wear many hats, but we contract for a multinational corporation. Occasional regional travel. Professional, self starter attitude required, punctuality, spunk, energy, drive, and positivity. Must be able to read and write English competently, and communicate with customers and vendors professionally, verbally and via email. This position has a planned but not guaranteed duration of 12-months, and may extend. Location is near Fincastle & Troutville, VA.
