Description: The successful candidate will join a team of experienced operations project managers at the Center for Innovation (CFI) in Suffolk, VA engaging in the development and execution of wargaming, experimentation, analysis, and capability demonstration. This position reports directly to the CFI’s Senior Manager for Operations and Wargaming. This individual is a strategic thinker with the ability to identify, examine and shape opportunities around customer needs. The work will be in a fast-paced environment and will require the individual to think in multi-dimensional space, multi-task and pay attention to details, delivering flawless execution on all assignments.The individual will serve as a principal point of contact and liaison with the Lockheed Martin (LM) Business Areas, Corporate Engineering, Technology & Operations (CET&O), and government partners on operational matters. This individual will be responsible for managing a portfolio of concurrent projects for the CFI that focus on wargames, analysis and experimentation, integrated demonstrations, and modeling & simulation applications and capabilities. A general understanding of the CFI operational construct, including interface with external operational customers (Army/Navy/Air Force/Marine Corps), CET&O organizations, and LM Business Areas programs in support of wargames, experiments, analysis, demonstrations, and technical exchanges, would be beneficial.Independently and as a team member, the selected candidate will conduct and participate in planning and execution of various wargame campaigns, experiments, workshops, and demonstrations. The incumbent will provide subject matter expert (SME) insights in conjunction with wargame campaigns, experiments, workshops, and demonstrations, and participate in the design and development of these types of events through application of the LightWorx™ (system integration) process. The individual will apply advanced technical principles, techniques, theories, and concepts, and will further contribute to the development of new organizational execution principles and theories.The individual will work independently and/or under consultative directions on complex problems involving all phases of planning and execution. Assignments are often self-initiated pursuant to contact with LM supported business areas or directly with the LM customer set. The individual must be able to determine and pursue, through functional cross-coordination, the course of action necessary to obtain desired results.The individual will participate in strategic, operational, and tactical level planning and management studies, assessments, and LM business area outreach. This individual will be required to develop presentations, worksheets, and documents utilizing Microsoft Office and should have sufficiently advanced knowledge to prepare professional presentations for leadership and customers. The candidate should have experience leading project planning activities using Microsoft Project to include directing the creation, approval, and ongoing maintenance of the plan.The selected individual will hold strong interpersonal and communications skills and demeanor to represent the CFI to customers, teammates, executive management and staff.This position may require some travel.Basic Qualifications: Established technical expertise in related areas Experience interfacing with military, inter-company, and industry partners at a high level Strong Customer Relations expertise and excellent written and verbal communication skills sufficient to comfortably and effectively present at senior leadership (business and military) level Proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools Proven/demonstrated project management experience including full-cycle project planning/execution Active Secret prior to startDesired Skills: In-depth knowledge of DoD mission and concept of operations Experience with and understanding of DOD future capabilities and concept development, experimentation, war gaming and analysis in support of the acquisition processBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:job.QualificationsLockheed Martin is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
