Position Title: Material Handler, 6p-6aReports to: Manufacturing SupervisorLocation: Winchester, VAJob Summary:Work as part of a team having responsibility for moving freight, stock, or other materials. Manufacturing Material Handlers support the productivity of manufacturing operations by safely operating a forklift or other industrial vehicle to move product, materials, or equipment.Job Duties:Move freight, stock or other materials to and from storage or production areas, leading docks, delivery vehicles, or containers by hand or using forklifts or other industrial vehiclesRead and attach identifying tags to containers, material or product packaging, or mark them with identifying informationConduct regular inspections of manufactured goods to ensure product meets quality standards, reporting any defects to the quality team and/or supervisorUse operator computer to update, track and record inventory, materials or finished goodsMaintain a safe and accident free environment by adhering to safety standards and identifying safety issues and reporting them to his/her supervisor or the safety managerShovel, sweep, wipe down or otherwise clean work areas, equipment, tools and machineryMinimum Qualifications:High School diploma or equivalentMust be legally authorized to work in the United StatesMust be able to lift 25lbs.Must be a team player and able to communicate effectively with co-workers and leadershipInternal candidates cannot have more than 3 ½ points in attendance, work rule violations OR any written documentation within the last 12 monthsPreferred Qualifications:Forklift experience preferredBasic computer skillsPrior manufacturing experience preferredNewell Brands (NASDAQ: NWL) is a leading global consumer goods company with a strong portfolio of well-known brands, including Paper Mate, Sharpie, Dymo, EXPO, Parker, Elmers, Coleman, Marmot, Oster, Sunbeam, FoodSaver, Mr. Coffee, Graco, Baby Jogger, NUK, Calphalon, Rubbermaid, Contigo, First Alert and Yankee Candle.
