LOCAL HOURLY SHIFTS, WORK PREDICTABLE FIVE DAY SHIFTS WITH TWO DAYS OFF.
REGIONAL SHIFTS FOR DRIVERS WHO WANT TO MAXIMIZE THEIR INCOME
HOUFF TRANSFER HAS SEVERAL OPENINGS IN WINCHESTER VA. The company has steady year round freight due to a variety of customers served. You'll work with other professional drivers, mechanics, and staff members who know trucking and how to keep the freight moving.
Local Hourly Company Drivers:
Work a set 5 day a week shift, usually return to home terminal or domicile daily.
Most runs within 100 miles of home terminal, occasional runs out 200 miles.
Available shifts: Sunday through Thursday or Tuesday through Saturday with early morning start times. Two openings available.
Assigned tractors, well maintained and serviced routinely . Omnitracs communication and electronic logs.
$20.55 an hour after 90 days, average $1,050 to $1,200 a week ($54,000 to $58,000 year.)
Local Mileage Company Drivers:
Work a set 5 day a week shift. Most runs return to the terminal same day but will have over-night runs usually once a week. Run mostly VA, WV, MD, PA, and DE.
Most runs within 150-225 miles of home terminal or domicile. Over 60% of loads are drop and hook.
Available day shifts: Monday to Friday with early morning start times.
Night shifts available: Sunday to Thursday with 6PM to 10PM start times.
Assigned tractors, well maintained and serviced routinely . Omnitracs communication and electronic logs.
Average $1,000 to $1,100 a week, ($52,000 to $55,000) rate is $0.46 1/4 per mile plus full benefit package.
Pay will average over $0.62 per mile with mileage pay, drop pay, detention pay, and benefits.
Regional Road Drivers:
Stay out through the week, off 48 hours every weekend.
Pay is $.52 1/4 per mile advancing to $.55 1/4 per mile. Average $1,350 to $1,550 weekly ($70,000 to $75,000 year.)
Pay will average over $0.69 per mile with mileage pay, drop pay, detention pay, and benefits.

Scholarship fund; offered for children and grandchildren, $500 for 2 year colleges and technical schools, and $1,000 annually for 4 year colleges.
Weight Loss Plan; offered to employees and their spouses. Houff Transfer pays you $15 a pound to lose weight.
Requirements:
A minimum of 2 years full time recent experience in tractor-trailer truck.
Stable work record with verifiable work history.
Good driving record; no serious citations or accidents in the last 5 years, no DUI or failed drug tests in last 7 years.
Good record of DOT compliance.
Able to obtain a minimum of a 1 year DOT physical. Physically fit to be able to climb in and out of trucks and trailers, drop & hook, slide tandems, as much as 8-10 times daily.
Requires Hazmat and tank endorsements within 60 days of hire.

Submitting a copy of your MVR, DOT physical, copy of driver's license and social security card will shorten the hiring process. After reviewing your application and supporting documents, we will call you for a phone interview, and then schedule a personal interview. Then you'll take a drug test, road test, and new DOT physical. We'll have you come back for a day and a half of orientation, and then you're ready to start earning.
