ROLE: The Helpdesk Support Technician monitors the Information Technology Helpdesk ticketing system, and provides first tier technical assistance to office and plant staff for IT devices and applications throughout the Lynden Door/Alliance Door organization and related family of companies. Assists with setup and maintenance of PCs and peripherals deployed to office and plant staff, and assumes the role of customer advocate to ensure organizational peers are receiving the best possible help from IT and to ensure all tickets and issues are being resolved by the IT department in a timely manner.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide Helpdesk support through the IT ticketing system

Assist with troubleshooting and repair of issues related to PC's, peripherals, mobile devices, and applications in local and remote offices, warehouse floors, and telecommuters of the organization.

Image and deploy desktops, peripherals, mobile devices, and applications for replacements, projects, or new hires.

Provide basic networking and telephone support

Provide basic ERP support for issues involving printers, application locks, and queues.

Assist with training for basic computer usage and company desktop software.

Assist with Active Directory group policies to automate administration of PC security and standards.

Provide asset management of desktop, laptop, and mobile device inventory.

CORE SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

Associate degree in Information Technology or related field

Basic understanding of IT concepts, practices, and technology.

Basic understanding of networking technologies and TCP/IP communication.

Solid understanding of Windows based systems (Windows 2008 Server+, Windows 7,10).

Microsoft Active Directory domain experience preferred.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software and services, especially Office365.

Solid understanding of PC hardware and mobile devices

Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
