Salmonberry School, a WA-approved independent school is seeking a lead teacher for multi-age class beginning August, 2019. Teacher must hold a BA (MA with teaching license preferred) and must have significant experience teaching at this age level. Salmonberry School offers a holistic/progressive approach to education. Reggio Emilia, Waldorf, Montessori or Democratic education could all be appropriate preparation for this position. Must be highly collaborative, have excellent communication skills and be excited to continue to grow and learn. Must be familiar with differentiating instruction with awareness of developmentally appropriate practices, project-based/thematic curriculum development, and relationship-based teaching and learning emphasizing social/emotional development. Background in mindfulness and contemplative practices would be lovely. Class size is limited to 15 students, with full time assistant teacher, and specialist instruction in Music, Art, Dance provided.
