Very locavore, totally organic, small but not that small, family owned business looking for part time help packing our Loca food Boxes on Monday's (9am-5pm) and Tuesday's (6am-11am), with potential for more shifts Friday and Sunday.

- 9-5 Mon, schedule gives you a full day of wholesome produce portioning meditation to get you into gear for another week of glamorous Bellingham living.
- 6am to 11am Tuesday schedule, provides you with the perfect weekly opportunity to eat coffee grounds for breakfast and afternoon panda nap in that travel hammock you've been neglecting.
- Some of your great yet unheralded skills include: Adeptly identifying, delicately handling, and aesthetically presenting produce; Counting with consequential accuracy; fostering a high tolerance for listening to podcasts (skill not required, but preferred.) An eclectic taste in music will make for great friendships with the current staff.

- You've been chasing your nemesis for decades, but egregious quality control issues have hilariously thwarted your efforts. This is your opportunity to effect change from the inside. (We're not Wiley Coyote's Acme, but I imagine creating a quality product under the same handle will prove therapeutic nonetheless.)
- $12/hr compensation for your organizational/produce/podcast aptitude. Wage increases to be anticipated at 6 month and 1 year marks.
Requirements:
-Willingness and ability to work accurately and efficiently. Every number we count and item in the inventory we log is either exact, or a problem for us later on.
-Ability to lift 50lbs. (If you often make placing your 53lb suitcase on the airport scale look so easy that the attendant doesn't charge you the overweight fee, since "hmm, the scale must be off", perfect.)
- A food handlers permit, or the ability to get one quickly
-Ability to stand for 8 hrs. Current policy is for standing on feet, but 8 hour handstand capability will be given due consideration.
-Ability to differentiate a cucumber from a zucchini, parsley from cilantro, rotten produce from delicious produce, kale Raab from kale Steve, the amount of thyme and time left for us to complete the job at hand, a dropped beet from a beat drop (produce jokes...). Existing produce knowledge is a plus, the ability to acquire it is essential.
- Having flexibility in ones schedule is an invaluable aspect that will be heavily noted
-Knowing the answer to how many ounces in one pound. Hint, it rhymes with 16. Knowledge in general of common weight/volume conversions is handy here - Or, at least the wherewithal to look them up and do the maths.
Recap:
-Schedule: Mon, 9am to 5pm (or a bit later if workload insists), Tuesday 6am until around 11am when we finish packing all our boxes. Other potential shifts (offered upon aptitude and availability) include, Friday 9am-3pm, and Sunday most typically 10am-4pm.
-$12/hr pay, paid out every other Friday
-Free produce! While not a guaranteed perk, most weeks we end up with extra or non-saleable items that you are welcome to take home, create an art project with, use as compost, or give to the needy (redundant since that's where it goes anyway...)
