Haggen Market Street Catering is on the lookout for: A Catering Production Cook is responsible for the preparation, cooking and quality control of hot and cold food that fulfills Market Street Catering orders. They work in close partnership with the Catering Production Manager to assist in execution at all food service venues. Additionally, they assist in stocking and maintaining inventories.
Responsibilities include:
Provides friendly and engaged guest care at all times.
Executes food production tasks using the following in order to prepare and finish catering products:
Demonstrated knife skills for chopping vegetables and fruit
Basic butchery skills
Hot foods cookery skills
Follows established recipes
Responsible for washing and caring for pots, pans and dishware.
Assists the Catering Production Manager in menu development, costing and sourcing of new products and ingredients.
Qualifications:
2 years cooking and or prep cook experience in restaurants, production catering or upscale retail/grocery environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Culinary Arts certificate preferred.
Expert knowledge of all products carried in the department including willingness to taste and evaluate catering products.
Ability to follow instructions and procedures for proper handling of knives, hand tools, oven, deep fryer and other food service machinery.
Strong work ethic with ability to follow instructions and procedures applying effective time management skills.
