Job Overview
The purpose of this position is to greet the guests as the come into the restaurant. Ensure a friendly welcome and start their experience off positively. Restaurant hosts/hostess is responsible for the flow of the restaurant and to ensure that the guests are aware of the wait if needed. The host/hostess is responsible for communicating to the kitchen and keeping them aware of seating times. Hosts/hostesses need to be able to work around difficult situations and possess exceptional organizational skills and problem solving abilities.
General Responsibilities
- Greet guests and patrons personally and on the phone.
- Offer appropriate seating arrangements.
- Present menus and take room service orders.
- Ensure the quality of menus is sufficient to cater to the number of guests.
- Relay room service orders to servers and ensure orders are filled in a timely and accurate fashion.
- Set dining rooms and make reservation arrangements.
- Maintain clean and organized tables and work area.
- Assist servers in dining room and lounge.
- Help buss and reset tables, in restaurant and lounge.
- Maintaining both exterior and interior of the restaurant to ensure cleanliness.
- Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently.
- Understand and can communicate products and services available at the Hotel.
Job Qualifications
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience
- Previous hosting experience required.
- Excellent verbal communication skills required.
- Positive interpersonal skills required.
- Must speak English fluently and be able to read/write in English.
License/Qualifications:
- Washington State Food Handlers Card
- Liquor Certification preferred
