Placement into the Plants Maintenance Technician Series is based on the required experience and training requirements. There is currently one (1) full-time vacancy (40 hours per week) in the Public Works Department.
Salary Rates:
Plants Maintenance Technician In Training: Starting monthly salary- $3,600 for full time positions. Current full salary range- $3,600-$4,385/month.
Plants Maintenance Technician 1: Starting monthly salary- $4,054 for full time positions. Current full salary range- $4,054-$4,939/month.
Plants Maintenance Technician 2: Starting monthly salary- $4,556 for full time positions. Current full salary range- $4,556-$5,551/month.
Plants Maintenance Technician 3: Starting monthly salary- $5,129 for full time positions. Current full salary range- $5,129-$6,245/month.
This register will be used to fill part-time or full-time vacancies should they occur. The Civil Service Eligibility Register will remain in effect for six months. This position is represented by a union.
NATURE OF WORK:
The Plants Maintenance Technician series performs progressively responsible multi-discipline preventive, corrective, rebuild, upgrade, and special project maintenance for complex plant process systems, equipment, and facilities at the water and wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, lift stations, reservoirs, and other facilities. Examples of duties include performing troubleshooting, preventive, corrective, and special project maintenance on industrial electrical, electronic, electrical generating and distribution, electronic process control instrumentation, distributed control systems, programmable logic controllers (PLC), remote telemetry units, HVAC, mechanical pumping equipment, high horsepower motors, compressors, heavy industrial process machinery, piping, and pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
