We are looking for Full Time, Direct Support Professional¯to work in our Children & Family Services in Ferndale.
What You'll Be Doing:
Our Direct Support Professionals provide daily care to kids with disabilities and help them develop independent living skills. We make a difference in the lives of children with disabilities by creating opportunities to teach, learn and build relationships in their communities. We are looking for dynamic, responsible, energetic individuals who are passionate about helping children grow and succeed. As a direct support professional, you would be responsible for supporting a child living in and engaging with the community. If contributing to something meaningful and making a difference describes you, we want to hear from you!
What You Need:
A passion for working with children and in the social services field
At least one year of experience working with children in a professional or voluntary setting
Possess a High School Diploma or equivalent
An ability to exhibit mature behavior and make independent judgments
Currently¯have or within 30 days of being hired CPR/Frist Aid license, Food Handlers Permit, and TB test
Have a clear criminal history and pass a background check
Bonus Points! Otherwise Known As Preferred Qualifications:
Caregiver, CNA or Direct Support experience¯
A bachelors degree in social services or related field
Prior experience working with Children with Developmental Disabilities
Previous years 12 hours of Continued Education Credits Certificate
