Communications Manager

Help us tell our story as our full-time Communications Manager. In this position, you will play a critical role in managing all of our marketing and communications content. We are excited to continue to engage our audiences with high-quality content that helps people vote with their dollars for a better, more natural food system.

The perfect fit for this position is a creative and organized professional who knows how to turn ideas into stories and stories into campaigns. Not only are you conversant in all forms of media and storytelling, but you have demonstrated success refining your strategies on an ongoing basis to achieve the most impact. You have experience writing, editing, curating and producing content for digital, print, and broadcast media. You are very comfortable managing all aspects of corporate communications, including rapid response, media relations, press releases, wire service, news monitoring and social listening, marketing campaigns, and talking point development and maintenance. This will involve intentional engagement with the non-GMO issue as it relates to our mission.

Responsibilities

-Lead all written expression of the Butterfly Brand, as well as corporate communications

-Act as the “Copy chief” at the Non-GMO Project

-Inform and manage the execution of the integrated communications strategy, including: rapid response, media relations, press releases, wire service, news monitoring and social listening, marketing campaigns, and talking points development and maintenance.

-Collaborate with designers, marketers, and insights analysts to deliver exceptional value to all stakeholders.

-Manage Social Media Coordinator and MarComm Copy-writer roles

-Point of contact for external Public Relations partners

Preferred Qualifications

-3-5 years of relevant MarComm experience in a mission-driven organization, preferably in the natural and organic grocery industry

-Associate or undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience

-1+ years as a successful people manager and leader

-Non-profit and/or good food movement experience

-Strong project management skills

-Portfolio of successful MarComm campaigns and outcomes

-Experience with all facets of media relations including monitoring, reporting, building media lists, and current media contacts

-Ability to draft and edit clean copy on deadline in a variety of formats and lengths

-Expertise in content publishing tools such as Word Press, Adobe Creative Suite, Google Suite, Sprout Social, Hoot Suite, Mail Chimp, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter

-Strong preference will be given to candidates who are familiar with the GMO issue and have a sincere interest in helping to protect the future of the North American food supply
