About the Position:
The “Senior System Administrator” serves as lead administrator for the technical support group. This role is responsible for achieving the technical needs of the Computer Science Department in support of the curricular and research/scholarship needs of the students, staff, and faculty. They are also a resource and mentor for the Computer Science Department’s technical support group, which includes planning the environment's evolution.
For Washington State HR purposes, this position is classified as IT System Administration- Journey level

Required Qualifications:
  • BS in Computer Science or closely related field;
  • At least 3 years of technical experience;
  • Knowledge and at least 2 years programming and configuration experience in both Unix and Windows;
  • Demonstrated ability and commitment to participate in team and learning environments that are equitable and inclusive of individuals with diverse social identities and backgrounds;
  • Evidence of strong interpersonal skills;
  • Demonstrated effectiveness at building trust, maintaining positive working relationships with stakeholders, and mentoring to encourage mentee growth.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • MS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
  • Experience with distributed file systems
  • Experience with and or certifications in operating systems, networks, and security
  • Experience in and knowledge of web-based and cloud technologies
  • Experience working in or with an educational community
  • Experience working with a diverse population.

Salary:
The salary range for this position is $77,544- 101,748, commensurate with experience.
