Trailhead Athletics is a well established personal training and group strength and conditioning studio in Bellingham, WA. We are known for our attention to detail, our ability to work with athletes with a variety of needs from post-rehabilitation to national level competitors in a variety of sports (snowboarding, mtn biking, paddling, ultra running). Our clientele loves the outdoors and our training helps them increase their strength and resiliency so they can take advantage of the outdoor sports that abound in the PNW.

We are looking for a certified personal trainer with an interest in working to increase Trailhead’s reach within our community and who understands the importance of a functional training approach. There is long term growth potential for a trainer who is consistent, reliable and versatile.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

-Create programming for and safely conduct personal training sessions and introductory sessions

-Possess an enthusiastic, passionate, friendly and ambitious personality

-Physical effort required for daily duties will include lifting/moving heavy weights (> 45bs), squatting, bending, reaching, spotting & prolonged standing and walking

-Comfort speaking and presenting in front of a group

-Working alongside other coaches/trainers to co-lead group S&C workouts

-Keep the facility running smoothly through equipment & workspace maintenance & cleanliness.

Desired Education/Certifications:

-Current CPR

-National Certification or a 4-year degree in any related field

-High school diploma

Qualifications/Experience for Success:

-Previous professional Personal Training experience required, group training also an asset

-Positive, upbeat attitude

-Excellent customer service skills - passionate about creating a connection to each and every client

-Detail oriented, highly organized, good penmanship

-Quick to analyze incorrect movement patterns and provide clear, positive & succinct corrections

-Comfortable working with technology and learning scheduling systems

-Collaborative, with the ability to work well in a small business team environment

-Ability to connect with a variety of age groups, professionals and athletes

Availability Requirements:

-Must have a flexible schedule Monday – Friday, with the willingness to work split shifts.

-Must be flexible for clients who may want a session as early as 5:15am to as late as 5:30pm.

-Must include availability and schedule in submitted cover letter.

-Approx. weekly hours 15-25
