StarTouch Broadband Services is a well-established Microwave Internet Service and Telecom provider servicing customers throughout the Pacific Northwest. We are seeking certified, experienced Installers/Tower Climbers to join our team based in Bellingham, Washington.
Candidates should expect to spend up to 70% of their time working directly on communication towers, at tower sites, and traveling to and from job sites in their assigned region. Approximately 30% of their time will be spent performing customer installations, uninstalls, and miscellaneous job-related duties.
Successful candidates will:
- love working in the outdoors and all types of weather
- be free to work long hours (45+ per week on average), Monday through Friday
- be free for overnight stays (sometimes multiple nights) for jobs on peninsula or out of region
- enjoy teamwork in groups of 2-6 on average
- love the views you'll have of the San Juans and local mountains, having no fear of heights (100-400 feet)
- enjoy technical challenges and trouble shooting
- demonstrate the ability to configure routers and microwave radios (training provided)
- have HVAC, electrical or previous cable installation experience/training and/or tower certifications
- enjoy riding the local ferry system and fly in small aircraft to reach island locations
- be able to use ATV's and snowmobiles to reach remote locations in the winter
- relish the term "no day is EVER the same"
- be confident and professional when installing our Internet service to customers at their business or home
- strive to meet and exceed industry standards for safety and quality of work
- be able to arrive consistently and timely for work each day
- be proficient with computer use/data entry/cell phone use
- clearly speak English to communicate effectively with customers and co-workers
- meet physical standards for tower climbing and rescue per OSHA standards
- have ability to regularly lift/carry approx. 70 pounds (tool boxes, ladders, antennas, loaded climbing harness,
cabling, etc.) to and from job sites and up towers
- be able to obtain OSHA 10 and tower climbing certifications (company paid)
- be able to pass pre-employment and random drug screens
- maintain insurable driving record to drive company vehicles
- follow all company policies and safety procedures
- be available to participate in rotating, after-hours on-call schedule for emergency work

Hourly rate of pay starts at $22.00 with frequent overtime. Promotions regularly from within include vehicle maintenance coordinator, HVAC/generator maintenance coordinator, safety coordinator, foreman, etc.
