Boeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking an Associate level Equipment and Tool Stress Analysis Engineer to apply stress analysis techniques for the advancement of functional excellence within the BCA Equipment and Tool Engineering Core team. A successful candidate in this role will have passion, creativity, and an insatiable desire for process improvement and efficiency. As a member of the team, you will drive accountability and integration across the Equipment & Tooling value stream and deliver value-added solutions to the production system, understand our core business requirements, and relentlessly eliminate waste. You will provide support to BCA programs to ensure tools and equipment are safe and compliant, and define and document processes and best practices in adherence to industry regulations and Boeing policies. In Production Engineering, we need highly responsible professionals committed to upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and integrity.

In locations where SPEEA representation applies, this job family will be covered by the terms of the collective bargaining agreement. Applicable and appropriate educational/certification credentials from an accredited institution and/or equivalent experience are required.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Partner with a senior analyst to perform complex analysis (e.g., stress, static and dynamic loading, thermal factors, vibration, etc.) of tool and equipment designs.
  • Writes specifications and process documentation and develops stress templates and guidebooks for use by the general tooling community.
  • Candidate should be familiar with at least one of the following: structural analysis (FEM and classic hand analysis methods), welding, building codes, below-the-hook lifting devices, mechanical systems (including pneumatic and hydraulic), or composites/advanced materials.


Work Authorization Statement:

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes , lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
  • 2 or more years of experience analyzing structural members for static or fatigue capability
  • 2 or more years of experience using basic Microsoft Office and office computing systems
  • 2 or more years of experience using software to review or build 3D solids (CATIA, AutoCAD, ProE, etc.)


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • 1 or more years of experience reading engineering drawings
  • 1 or more years of experience working in an Equipment or Tool Engineering role
  • 1 or more years of data analysis experience
  • 1 or more years of classical hand analysis and FEA software experience
  • Experience working with Composites
  • Ability to learn in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to collaborate with both the engineering workforce and the mechanics on the factory floor


Typical Education/Experience:
  • Degree and typical experience in engineering classification:


  • Bachelor's degree or higher in ABET accredited course of study in engineering or engineering technology plus 2 or more years of experience
  • Master's degree or higher in ABET accredited course of study in engineering or engineering technology
