The Boeing Airplane Safety Engineering team is seeking an Entry-Level Airplane Safety Engineer (Level 1) to join our team in Everett, Washington.
Airplane Safety Engineering (ASE) is responsible for overseeing review of in-service fleet issues along with airplane level design safety activities for new Boeing commercial airplanes. Using risk assessments, sophisticated analysis methods, data analytics, in-service lessons learned, and a strong understanding of airplane level functional and logical architectures, ASE works with wider design organizations like Airplane Systems, Propulsion, Reliability and Maintainability, Interiors, and Structures to ensure product safety at the airplane level.
This position involves placement of successful candidates on the Development Airplane Safety Teams, supporting airplane programs in development, including 737MAX, 777-9, 777-FX, and Product Development as well as design safety support to sustaining airplane programs.
The successful candidate will be reliable, trustworthy, and accountable for completing assigned work. In addition, this person will be open-minded and comfortable about the potential for working in a dynamic teaming environment, Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to work effectively with a diverse engineering team.
Intrinsic aptitude for taking initiative, leading cross functional teams and complex projects, ability and willingness to take ownership of work activities to ensure they are completed accurately, efficiently, and in a timely manner while being a champion for product safety initiatives, objectives and milestones. Lastly, the successful applicant will be willing to consider and investigate alternate proposals in support of a "never fail" spirit.
