The Boeing Company is looking for an Senior Industrial Engineer (Level 4) 1st Shift to support Boeing Commercial Airplane's Supply Chain Engineering department in Everett, Washington.

The Supply Chain Engineering Industrial Engineer will partner with Supply Chain Operations to provide support or assistance to a supplier by identifying and mitigating any supply chain risk to the Boeing Production System. Additional responsibilities include performing capacity analysis and recommending an optimal execution strategy based on the supplier resource (labor, machine, and production system) to enable an efficient, effective, and optimized production process. The Supply Chain Engineering Industrial Engineer will also prepare, assess, and conduct post-activities for a Production Readiness Assessment. Create, develop and utilize data analytics/modeling to enhance decision making and extend this to the external supply base.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Applies advanced Industrial Engineering concepts, techniques, analysis, and decision tools to promote and implement changes in manufacturing, engineering, and service operations.
  • Independently develops models, databases, and spreadsheets to analyze data (e.g., statistics, operations research, and engineering economics) and provides summary analysis and metrics for customer consultation (e.g., management, departments, suppliers).
  • Applies advanced industrial engineering techniques and concepts to product and process design teams throughout the product lifecycle, resulting in a robust product design and work statement that meets program requirements.
  • Researches, designs, develops, improves, and implements processes to enhance schedule performance, lower cost, and improve quality by applying advanced LEAN and other Industrial Engineering concepts for large-scale systems integration and asset utilization.
  • Independently manages, defines, negotiates, and controls the scope, cost, and timing of projects and performs risk analysis using project management tools (e.g., work break-down structure, precedence network, and resource allocation).
  • Ensures projects are complete within budget.
  • Utilizes advanced engineering methods (e.g., mathematical models, simulation, statistics) to develop optimal process designs and efficient utilization of resources (e.g., facilities, personnel, materials, equipment) to create and validate products.
  • Analyzes and designs value stream, including capability, capacity (e.g., make/buy, supplier selection, risk analysis, supplier performance), throughput, workflow, and logistics (e.g., critical path, lead-time, transportation, factory layout).


This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements; therefore, a "U.S. Person" defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "U.S. Person" includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering from an ABET accredited university
  • Must be willing to travel up to 50%
  • 2+ years' experience in operations/production
  • 1+ year of experience in project leadership/leading cross-functional teams


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • 3+ years' experience in a team environment
  • 2+ years' experience in project leadership
  • 2+ years' experience in project management
  • 2+ years' experience interfacing with senior and executive leadership
  • 2+ years' experience in process modeling
  • Proficient in structured problem solving
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical skills


Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g., Bachelor) and typically six or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g., Master and four years related work experience, ten years related work experience, etc.).
