Description: Our client is currently seeking a Engineer - Avionics, Instruments & GNC III

As part of a small, passionate, and accomplished team of experts, you will be responsible for the assessment of the quality and reliability of EEE components in spaceflight applications. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.

This job will have the following responsibilities:

  • Support broad activities, including reviews, approvals, DPA assessments and GIDEP assessments for both active and passive EEE components
  • Collaborate closely with design, analysis, manufacturing, quality, and integration engineers to implement requirements
  • Coordinate internal and external EEE component reviews and approvals
  • Contribute to the development of internal engineering and quality processes to standardize and accelerate EEE component evaluation, implementation, and qualification.

Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Experience with the use of commercial/automotive parts in safety-critical and/or high-reliability applications
  • Understanding of electronic component types, materials, device physics, reliability, quality, and/or construction analysis
  • Ability to vet the Bill of Materials for avionics designs against approved vendor/component parts lists and standards
  • Ability to develop and maintain source control documentation for EEE components used in avionics/high-reliability designs
  • 2+ years of exposure to semiconductor design/processing, component screening, accelerated testing, and/or reliability analysis (level commensurate on experience)
  • Ability to travel as the need arises to supplier locations throughout the U.S. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
  • Must = or national, U.S. permanent resident (current holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
