JOB TITLE: Interim Executive Director
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors degree in ECE or related field, preferred
Five years relevant experience working with young children, preferred
30 Hours Childcare Basics
Valid Portable Background Check through Department of Children, Youth, and Families
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Uphold The Kids Place mission to transform the lives of young children through play in partnership with families and teachers.
Adhere to the WA State DEL guidelines and NAEYC Code of Ethics
Act as a spokesperson for the centers philosophy and goals
Assist teachers to build emergent curriculum through inviting classroom guest speakers and facilitate hands-on learning
Communicate with visitors, prospective families regarding center policies and practice
Enroll new families and keep the school fully enrolled as needed
Mentor and guide staff
Maintain appropriate work schedule for staff to ensure childrens needs are met
Conduct staff meetings and arrange trainings
Interview, hire, and orient staff
Meet with the board of directors monthly or as needed
Report operation status to board of directors and work with to implement strategic plan
Work with Early Achievers coach to complete ongoing improvement plan
Meet with licensors and other officials as needed
Inspect indoor and outdoor environment for health and safety hazards
Oversee all operations of the non-profit including, but not limited to: payroll, billing, tuition, vendors, keep updated child and staff files, renew necessary business licenses
Work with bookkeeper and accountant to ensure that all payroll and tax reports are completed
Oversee facility maintenance such as, but not limited to cleaning and repairs
Lift up to 50 pounds
All other duties as assigned
EXPECTATIONS:
Work hours include:
6-8 hours daily, during regular business hours 7:30 am-5:30 pm
Evening training 1/month, usually 5:45-7:15 pm
Evening or weekend family events 1/month
Required training to be completed upon hire:
Department of Early Learning Background Check
Negative TB test results
Valid CPR and First Aid Certification
Valid Food Handlers Permit
COMPENSATION:
Temporary exempt approximately August-December, monthly salary range $2400-3200, DOQ
