NoaNet is currently seeking Network Field Engineer located in Tri Cities, WA. The primary job function will be to focus on operations, which includes installation, provisioning, testing, maintenance and on-call support for network outages. In addition, this position provides back up support to our engineering team particularly relating to DWDM, Ethernet and layer 3 IP in a service provider network. The successful candidate must have knowledge of Ethernet, Carrier Ethernet 2.0, IP, MPLS, routing, switching (STP, Tunneling, REP), QOS and network design. Understanding of wireless networks, equipment and deployment is highly desireable.RequirementsBasic Requirements:

Technical school or college degree in computer science, IT, networking, or related disciplines from an accredited technical school or college with the ability to obtain or holds industry networking certifications such as Cisco CCNA, Juniper JNCIA, Alcatel NRSI/II or similar. In lieu of technical school or college, a high school diploma and at least 5 additional years of relevant experience and is acceptable. Thorough knowledge of standard network concepts, practices and applications.Preferred Qualifications:

An associates or bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, networking, or related disciplines from an accredited college or university and 5 years of direct experience. A non-related degree with 5 years of proven performance in related discipline will be considered. In lieu of college degree, a high school diploma and at least 10 additional years of relevant experience is acceptable. Thorough advanced knowledge of standard network concepts, practices and applications is required.Required Network Engineering Skills:

Understanding of IP/Ethernet routing and switching

Familiarity with Routing Protocols

Configuring and troubleshooting Ethernet circuits (VLANs) on a service provider network

Advanced Network trouble-shooting skills, including familiarity with Wireshark, RFC2544, y.1564 and use of other packet analysis tools

Advanced knowledge of Core, Distribution, and Access layer designs and topologies

Familiarity with best network security practices

Cisco, Juniper, Nokia, or similar certification or the ability to obtain the required certification within 6 months

Equivalent certification accepted Preferred Network Engineering Skills:

Knowledge of MPLS provisioning and troubleshooting

Familiarity with transport technologies – SONET, DWDM/CWDM and Carrier Ethernet

Proficiency with routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF

Experience evaluating network vendor products and technologies

A strong Linux background

CCNP or NRS2 preferred; equivalent certifications acceptedAdditional Skills:

Knowledge and experience with process management and improvement techniques

Ability to manage projects from order through implementation

Strong organizational, coordination, written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

Strong people skills and the willingness to be accountable for results

Ability to set own priorities as well as manage time responsibly

Must have excellent customer relationship skills

Ability to travel and work nights

Possess a valid driver license

Must be able to pass a Washington State background check
