Busy veterinary clinic is seeking a full time bather/ groomer for our grooming department. Experience is desired but willing to train the right, dedicated individual. The position would consist of bathing, blow drying, removing mats from fur, nail trims and ear cleanings to be performed on each pet. Those who advance to being trained to groom will also be required to learn and master breed specific clips. We specialize in all breeds, both large and small. Some pets may also require sedation, therefore requiring close supervision of the groom by one of our Veterinarians on staff.
Basic requirements to apply would be as follows:
Capable of lifting a minimum of 50lbs numerous times daily.
Self starter that has a willingness to learn and have an appreciation for all animals
Be on time and ready to start each groom promptly and pay attention detail
Have a gentle hand with all animals, some are special needs. Empathy is a must
Communicate clearly with owners and interview them about groom specifics for each groom appointment
Be able to handle all types of animal behavior while still maintaining safe control to avoid injuries during grooms
Must have basic computer and phone skills to aid in booking appointments
Pay is based upon an hourly wage and will be discussed upon interview. Previous experience handling animals is strongly encouraged. This is a physically demanding position. Please consider this upon applying.
