Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity and immediate need on the P-8 Program for an Electrical Systems Design Engineer in Tukwila, WA.

As a member of the P-8 Electrical Power Engineering team you will be working in a highly dynamic team environment developing and maintaining electrical power design for both the Electrical Power Generation System (EPGS) and Secondary Power Distribution System (SPDS).

This position is a hybrid position that allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite on occasion when supporting aircraft troubleshooting in Tukwila, WA USA.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Supports oversight of supplier efforts in development and production of EPGS and SPDS components and software.
  • Assists with P-8 production troubleshooting of EPGS and SPDS issues with oversight and guidance from senior engineers.
  • Assists with technical support, problem solving, and guidance to product support team for fielded aircraft under oversight of senior engineers.
  • Supports resolution of supplier hardware quality issues.
  • Authors and updates Specification Control Drawings (SCDs), Interface Design Descriptions (IDDs), and Interface Control Documents (ICDs) as directed by lead engineer.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with teammates, peers, and supplier counterparts.
  • Reports progress and elevates issues to lead engineer and manager as required.


This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires ship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree or higher in an engineering related field, ABET accredited.
  • 2+ years of experience in the aerospace industry.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products.


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Experience with electrical systems design.
  • Experience within Commercial Derivative Aircraft (CDA).
  • Experience with troubleshooting electrical systems.


Typical Education/ Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:
